My wife wanted a divorce 11 years ago which I was opposed to, so she asked her old boyfriend John Lyons who just happened to be a lawyer what to do, he advised her to go see Bernard Darwkin a NYC divorce lawyer, I actually thought we were going to see a mediating lawyer. Once in his office he started asking me if I would be willing to give my wife alimony of $80,000 a year, more money then I ever made in 3 years of working, I asked him what he was talking about since I was trying to sell a failed restaurant in the village and she was a Park Ave Dentist, I then started wondering about his question, I asked him if we were there to mediate or to discuss alimony, he quickly turned to my wife and said your husband is a con artist isn’t he, well I stood up and said a lawyer calling me a con artist was like a thief calling a pickpocket a crook, I ended the session and walked out, he told my wife right then that I would never settle with her in a million years, and he would take the case, when I explained to my brain dead wife that he would be dismissed from the case since it was conflict of interest she was quick to say that he would have someone else in his law firm handle it, long story short the Judge found out after she spent $30,000 with him and threw him off the case, she had to hire another ambulance chaser named Bender and Bender, they didn’t want to settle either, all they did was bill her another $30,000 and finally the Judge said if they didn’t settle it after 3 times in Supreme Court the Judge would settle it, well my wife almost fell down knowing that I might be getting half of her Dental practice which wasn’t my intent,all I wanted was half the value of our country house, 1 car and my apt that predated our marriage by 10 years, she cried and asked why I was doing this to her, I said I was not doing anything but protecting myself, I didn’t even hire a lawyer until the day she served me with divorce papers, this is after she had me locked up on the eve of my daughters sweet sixteen birthday, while I sat in the tombs my family and friends were having dinner, I swore I would never take her back but against my lawyers advise I met with my wife and she sucked me back in with her loss of 40 pounds and the knowledge of my young son who I knew needed me, we got back together, the story gets better but that will be my next post, don’t be led by emotions, she spent a total of well over $70,000 or more since I did make her pay for my lawyer which was only $10,000, beware of Bernard Darwkin, and Susan Bender, real blood sucking, back stabbing, low life’s, she finally had to pull the divorce from the courts, guess what, 11 years later she again served me with another divorce, she even used the same blood sucker Susan Bender, what a mistake that was, I will explain what happened with this current divorce in a few days. did i mention that I put her thru medical school, or that I threw my father’s inheritence of $255,000 into our joint bank account, Good Luck
