A friend of mine found out the hard way that her name wasn’t on the deed to a property she helped purchase.
The lawyer at the real estate closing didn’t check the names before recording the deed in the New Hanover County Recorder of Deeds office. Had the lawyer actually checked the deed, she would have realized that only one of the two names were there.
Naturally the other person took advantage of the situation and claimed “fee simple title” even though they were living together at the time in the very house. He had her thrown out like a dog… In other words, your out of luck bitch.
Did this Wilmington lawyer get too much sun while out at Wrightsville Beach or maybe a little too much booze.

I’m assuming the two were in a relationship at the time that later fizzled? Whose name was on the mortgage?
